Closing 2021, Going Live in 2022

A very happy Tibb’s Eve to you all.

I believe I have explained the holiday in this blog before, so I won’t do so again, but I did want to take a moment to say I hope that today begins a period of joy, rest, and reflection for you.

What Are You Doing Not Long After New Year’s Eve?

For me, 2021 has been a mixed bag. I put out “Alone in a Crowded Place”, of which I’m very proud, and which has been getting decent play on Spotify. A huge thank you to my friends who helped with the production and packaging, and also to all those who put me on their playlists (and always looking for more).

But no shows, really.  I tried to launch the EP with a live show during the summer and, having to do so outside, we were at the whims of the weather. Two unfortunately timed thunderstorms killed both of our attempts.

But we move on… TO JANUARY 8, 2022. Andrew Geano is launching his great new single “Head Voice” at a show at the Bebop in Boston on January 8, and he’s asked me to be ONE OF THE OPENING ACTS! I know we’re still in a very anxious time, but I am very appreciative and excited to be part of the show. Please (if you feel you can do so safely) come and join us from 7-10pm at the Bebop. I’ll have CDs ready and will be looking forward to seeing you there.

There is also new music in the works. After meeting up with a local visual artist here in Newton and hearing about some ideas he had, I was inspired to start putting a collection of songs together, and it seems like it may actually become a full length album by the middle of next year. I’ll have to be a little purposeful about it, but that is my new year’s resolution: to be as intentional about the music as I am in other aspects of my life.

In the meantime, however, I also wanted to say thank you to all of you who have been on this ride along with me. Each year I look back and – even with whatever frustrations have been – I am so much further along and have grown in both capabilities and in community.

Thank you, and a very happy and healthy 2022 to you.
