WANTED: Guitarist, Keys, Bass, and Drums

There’s something about being in a band.

It’s not just about being able to play loud or fill up an entire room with sound. It’s about standing next to friends to create joy and happiness and give people a good time. It’s goofing off onstage.  It’s mutual encouragement to advance your craft and your art to come up with new ideas you wouldn’t have been able to on your own.  And it’s goofing off onstage. (Yes, I know I said that already, but it’s important!)

With the album coming out in just a few weeks, my thoughts have really been circling around wanting to perform these songs alongside other people. It’s been way too long since I’ve been part of a band, and I’d like to fix that.

Now, I know this is not nearly as easy as it perhaps was when I had fewer other outside commitments in my life, and my family and my day job are certainly priorities. However, this is a passion worth making room for, and I think that I and a few other people could have a hell of a lot of fun with it!

So here’s my ask: wanna come play some music with me?

I figure that a good band would be:

  • Me on guitar and vocals
  • Another guitarist who can also play keys
  • Bass (and maybe this is the switch-hitter for keys?)
  • Drums

Probably best if more than one of us can sing.

Of course I’m going into this with 40 or so of my own songs ready for performing. However, I’d love to find people with musical tastes similar to what I write, and have partners in writing, maybe even someone who could bring their own material to the table as well.

Let me know what you think. I’d love to get together with some people to jam and see if we’ve got some chemistry.

Would you like to maybe someday play the Lizard Lounge, Sally O’Briens, The Square Root, the back room at the Burren, or maybe even (dream a little) Cats Cradle or Crystal Ballroom? I sure as hell would!

Shoot me a message, then let’s jam and see what happens.

-Chris
