What’s Next?

I haven’t written in a little bit. Part of that is just having been busy, but part of it has also been because of the fact that I find myself at a little bit of a crossroads, or at least in a somewhat introspective place.

It’s December, and that always seems to be a time of closing things out and thinking about what comes next. So, my mind is naturally going towards figuring out what I wanna do next.

So, just to recap a little bit, here are some of the things that happened this year:

It has also been a complicated year. I’ve had a family member in the hospital twice. I have parents who I care about and who are starting to get slightly older and who I worry about.

So, I admit, I’m a little tired. I don’t have a lot of things planned for December, but I am looking forward to some time where I’ll just be sitting here with not much else to do other than pick up my guitar and fiddle around a little bit. And I usually find that after doing that for a little while there are a few songs that come out of it. That room to breathe somehow allows my mind and my heart to find the things I’ve been trying to figure out how to say.

So maybe that’s what’s next. I think so, and I’m looking forward to it. And in the meantime, I hope that you find the things that you would like to come next as well, and that you find the joy in moving towards them.

May you find warmth and light in this dark and cold season, and thank you as always for being on this journey with me. I really appreciate it, and I hope that my art helps to bring you some of that light and warmth.

PS – I really appreciate all of your support through this and all the years. I love making art and songs (and words) that others find harmony in. If you can at all, please consider supporting me as I continue to put all of this together.  You can do a one-time “tip” to me at any time here, or consider joining my Patreon.  And thank you very, very much!
